Steve Vai: For the Love of God

Anyone remember Steve Vai‘s original 10-hour workout article? It’s responsible for who knows how many guitar players taking leaps in their technical prowess. A version of it can be found here. It’s basically an outline of how Steve would do 3-sets of 3 hour practice sessions doing basic exercises on the guitar, leaving the extra hour to play and have fun. I remember making a photocopy of the article back in Dhaka and pouring over the exercises.

Anyway, this post has nothing to do with excercises. Just a video of Vai performing For the Love of God [from Visual Sound Theories] with Holland Metropole Orchestra recorded in July 2005 and released last year.

Okay…let me rephrase that. The following is not ‘just a video.’ It’s Niccolo Paganini reborn! You’ve never seen the electric guitar played this way.

I know you wanna see more. So, here you go.
