The Expendables I’ll remember forever as the first band I shot from the photo pit, with press credentials for Guitarkadia. And I’ll always be grateful to Amber from Central Park Summerstage for giving me this opportunity. Not too long after I’d tweeted about getting my photo pass, my brother sent me a text that Michael Jackson had died. I didn’t know how to handle those two feelings of happiness and shock at the same time.
The concert went on. I went on photographing. Made mistakes. Learned from them. Live music has always inspired me. It’s the energy that volleys back and forth between the audience and the band that you take in when you’re at live shows. This one had no shortage of that.
The Expendables is a Santa Cruz based surf rock band currently opening for 311′s Untiy 2009 tour. The band is promoting its self-titled album.
